This study was conducted to explore ways to sustain popular music in Korea, focusing on K-pop, which is recognized as the Korean wave of music. From an educational point of view, it is an exploration of ways to establish a systematic support system by supplementing the current process of school education and non-formal education. This study was conducted as a literature study. The results of this study are as follows. First, from the viewpoint of the education system for cultivating popular singers, it is necessary to make changes in school education. In other words, in school education, a system for more systematic talent discovery should be supplemented, away from the center of individual hobbies centered on clubs. Second, in non-formal education, regional professional education programs should be expanded. This education system needs to operate specialized programs at the local government level rather than professional education through individual investment. In other words, it is necessary to operate through professional education programs linked with local governments and universities. Third, local governments need to establish a support system that can operate professional education programs by supporting entertainment companies, organizations, and private academies suitable for the local situation.
