The purpose of this study is to understand the needs of Z Generation university students for career education through an analysis of their experiences with career education and to explore new directions for career education targeting Z Generation in universities. The research method employed qualitative research, specifically following the procedure of narrative inquiry. 7 Z generation university students who had experienced career education at a university in the metropolitan area were selected, and their in-depth interviews were conducted. The contents obtained through the interviews were repeatedly read, analyzed, and reinterpreted. The research findings are as follows: Z generation university students gradually sought their career paths within the university life while experiencing career exploration since their admission to university. They experienced objective self-understanding through career-related coursework, growth through field-linked team projects, and assistance through direct counseling with professors. Finally, Z generation students expressed the need for opportunities to experience and participate in career education, the desire for continuous provision of customized education, and the desire to attribute meaning to the importance of career paths. This study holds practical significance as it analyzes the experiences of Z generation university students to reveal the demands of career education and establish its direction, considering the changing target of education and societal changes.
